As the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic continues to impact our communities, we are committed and focused on the safety, health, and well-being of our Aqua at Lakeshore East Apartments residents.
With that in mind, we acknowledge that several of our Aqua at Lakeshore East Apartments residents have reached out to offer assistance to neighbors who might be in need, which is a growing demand and we appreciate your consideration and commitment to self-care to keep fellow residents safe. In this trying time, we want to maintain Aqua at Lakeshore East Apartments as a strong-knit community and recommend contacting Cheryl Mason at cmason@magellandevelopment.com if you require assistance or are willing to offer assistance.
Volunteering Your Time
With local food banks spread throughout the state of Illinois and right here in the city of Chicago, many of them are in need of assistance. The Greater Chicago Food Depository is looking for volunteers aged 18-60 to pack food for their COVID-19 responses. This type of food assistance is an essential part of Food Banks during the Illinois Stay at Home order. Sign up to volunteer in one of their warehouses by clicking here.
With a little more time on our hands these days, it is the perfect opportunity for blood donations to the American Red Cross. Take some time out of your not so busy schedule to sit down for a couple of hours and donate your lifesaving blood. Yes, you can still donate blood during COVID-19, in fact, it is highly encouraged! Find more information on donating blood during COVID-19 and how to find a donation site near you by clicking here.
If you happen to be talented with a sewing machine or some needle and thread, this next volunteering opportunity might be best for you! With different versions of sewing and no-sew face masks, the Center for Disease Control and Prevention recommends “wearing a face-covering in public settings where social distancing measures are hard to maintain.” For a tutorial on how to make your own face coverings, click here. If you end up with extras, donate to your local fire and police department!
Around the world, and right here in our local Lakeshore East community, there are people in need and people with the ability to give. If you are an Aqua at Lakeshore East resident who has the time and money to donate, we encourage you to reach out to the office here in your apartment community. We’re confident that by sticking together and supporting each other, we'll emerge from this stronger than before.
