Jian
With its roots in Beijing and Shanghai, Jian Bing has become one of the most popular street foods in China. Today, we have the honor of being able to try it for ourselves thanks to Jian, the first Jian Bing restaurant in all of Chicago. For those of you that don’t know what Jian Bing is, essentially it is a savory crêpe with a Chinese twist to the recipe. It’s characteristics are different from a traditional French crêpe in that the flour layer is crunchy as well as their use of different spices and sauces. If you’re looking for a day trip to another part of the world this spot is definitely it!
Vanille Patisserie
Once you’re ready for some dessert, stop by at Vanille Pâtisserie. Here you’ll be able to find a unique blend of classic European pastries mixed with a contemporary touch.
